Join us at Monarch Bible Camp
Director of Discipleship – Monarch Bible Camp

Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton Region, ON

Starting Date: immediately

Monarch Bible Camp is a unique ministry. Our slogan is "Bringing Camp To Your Neighbourhood" and that’s what we do. We bring camp to smaller communities in south eastern Ontario enabling children to experience camp close to home. We offer a full camp program in a day time setting, everything from archery to kayaking and mountain biking. We are very strong on evangelism and strive to help children understand their need for a relationship with God and how to grow in it. We partner with local churches in many locations to connect the children to their community. We have a week of resident camp which also integrates many day campers who consider this the highlight of their summer.

A successful camp ministry requires the intentional care of camp staff and campers. A Director of Discipleship will come alongside campers and staff to befriend, encourage, build-up and challenge them toward a deeper relationship with God. This person will build relationships while at camp and follow up on them throughout the year. See the Role Description for more details.

Ministry Opportunities

A summer with Monarch Bible Camp is one that you’ll never forget!

Our mission at Monarch is to impact lives with the love of Jesus Christ. We want to challenge dedicated Christians to become part of a team that reaches out to children and youth in very unique ways through the fun and stimulation of camp! Camp is such an important time in many peoples' lives and we have an opportunity to impact lives for eternity.

Staff are the most important part of camp. As a staff member you have the chance to be positive role models for children, to share your faith, to create memories that will last a lifetime, to teach skills and play games and sing songs. Your enthusiasm and love of God show children that being a Christian is cool!

The spiritual growth of the staff is just as important as with the campers. One of the best ways to grow with God is to serve God. You will find that you have many talents and abilities that God can use to impact lives. You’ll learn to rely on His strength. Monarch views your time with us as much more than a job. It is ministry for the Lord and you will be a Summer Missionary with a very important mission - to impact lives for the Lord!!

As a Summer Missionary with Monarch you will be expected to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, to work cooperatively and enthusiastically, to participate in many different work situations and settings and to strive to grow in your faith. Please spend time in prayer and Bible study as you will need to draw on God’s strength and guidance.

You will need to fill out an application form and have three reference forms filled out by people who know you well. Please have one of them filled out by your Pastor or Youth Pastor. You will also need to have a Police Check done through your local Police Station. Most Police Stations will not charge you if you tell them it is for a non profit organization. When all this information is collected you will be contacted for an interview.

Thank you for your interest in Monarch Bible Camp. May God direct your search for Summer Ministry and our selection of the staff He has chosen to minister with us. Click here for information about wages.

A summer with Monarch Bible Camp is one that you’ll never forget!

Monarch ministers to families in many small communities and we aim to keep our fees low to attract all income level families. Staff wages come through fund raising and a program called SWAPP - Summer Work and Partnership Program. Through this program you would appeal to your church, family and friends to support you as a Missionary in prayer and in finances.

A very important part of this appeal is to gain the prayer support you will need to be successful. Many people consider it a privilege to pray for Missionaries. Some fund raising is done by the staff themselves through car washes, dinners and appeals. Some will be done by the Board Members.

The reality is that you have schooling and living expenses and that if you are spending your summer in ministry you need help.

The camp is committed to ensuring that all staff make a fair wage. You are expected to raise support for yourself and Monarch will add to whatever is raised to bring the wages up to a competative rate. Wages will depend on experience, age and responsibility.

If you are hired by Monarch you will be given information and brochures about SWAPP to send to your intended supporters
